Competitive advantage through GDPR compliance

With the GDPR compliance deadline weeks away, can the GDPR be turned from a target on the back of enterprise to a competitive advantage? 

Dominic Cullis, CEO of GDPR Academy says that supply chain issues in particular add complexity and may result in a kind of ‘musical chairs’.

“Say I’m an organisation that is prepared and I used a supplier who hasn’t gone through due diligence: then I can’t continue to use that supplier. Had I been a supplier, then there’s an opportunity for me to win business,” he said.

“One organisation had a prospect list of 65,000 names and addresses. They now know that they had a problem. They’ve condensed it to 5,000 prospects. They are now feeling positive about it because those 5,000 have given permission, the data is clean and up to date, and they’re not wasting time sending out information to people who weren’t interested. They will probably get more business from far less effort.”
